Me? I said that I prefered crunchy over smooth, pretended to love hockey, and swallowed my words and said "Yes, dear" an awful lot. My conclusion? Be myself. Untruths are difficult to sustain.

I've never really changed anything about myself. I couldn't. I do comprimise and adapt pretty well. Comprise and open communication is the key to any successful relationship. Yes, always be yourself. Always. You are pretty perfect to begin with so any guy would be pretty lucky to have you. ;)

I am a gentle soul. I harbor no ill will towards my fellow man. To this end I do not own any firearms or a knife bigger than a pocket knife. There are those that may deserve my wrath, but to those I merely give my silence. There are some who would benefit from a straight forward punch to the face, but to these people I offer my smirk of displeasure. I have never harmed a soul in any way, yet for a girl I went against all my principals one time. She and I went to a county fair. ''My might be there'' she said. ''Take this and carry it just in case.'' She handed me an 8 inch sheaved bowie knife which had a leather strap to tie to a calf. I took the knife and said, ''Come on. Do you think I will really need this? And if I do, do you think I would use it?'' She said,''If you love me you will carry this for my protection.'' I should have said, ''If YOU love ME you wouldn't ask me to do this.'' But ... I didn't. I felt like a complete idiot walking around the county fair with an 8 inch knife strapped to my thigh. I told her when we got home,''If I have to do things like this to prove my love, then you don't deserve my love.'' She never asked such an outlandish thing such as this again.

I can't say I've ever changed anything FOR someone. Sometimes I've used a partner as an excuse to change something that I've been wanting to change anyway. For example, recently I used this guy I just started dating as an excuse to quit smoking. I wanted to quit smoking anyway. But using him as an excuse because he doesn't like cigarette smoke somehow makes quitting easier, so that's what I tell myself.
