Well, where should I start? I don't want this to turn into an essay, so I'm aiming to keep it short, precise and concise. The truth is there are many, many things which can impact our health negatively - and, to a large extent, for many of those things, we are powerless to stop it. A good example would be pollution in our environment. We simply don't know what the effects of breathing polluted air can be in the long term, and it's something that for a city dweller they can't really do much about. So we need to be careful to put things into perspective here - what I'm trying to say is we shouldn't get too paranoid about all these things out there which are bad for us because we must realize that the list is endless. Yes, I think that as a country the food we consume is laden with all sorts of unhealthful things. I think the biggest reason that's the case is America has developed what I call a "culture of convenience" - as a general rule, we americans want everything fast, we want it to taste a certain way even if it's artificial and not naturally like that way in nature, and we want it to be convenient and fuss free. The thing is that's not the way nature was necessarily supposed to be: the human body through millions of years of evolution did not get where it's at now through microwaved TV dinners. If we are to get anywhere soon, we must fundamentally address our approach to health and well being to understand why it is we have the problems today.

Your 'question' sounds more like a political statement to me. . .
Everyone has a choice of what they put into and onto their own bodies. We have become a society of convenience. In order to make all of the foods that are convenient, they have to process the hell out of them to make them have some sort of a shelf life, or these companies trying to cater to American's lifestyle would be out a lot of money, right? It all goes back to the fast-paced society that we live in. . most of society now wants things the way they want it & RIGHT NOW. this is what they are getting in response to the demands!

People tolerate it because they insist that 'they' wouldn't do that to us. Look at medicine they push to market it before they know if it is safe. Look at Vioxx. People presume that if it is bad for you the government will pull it. That is not true.
Then when people do try to warn people they are discredited and made out to be kooks just so nobody listens to them.
People think they have to list all ingredients on products but if it is an ingredient within an ingredient they do not have to list it.

yes, they are killing us. The FDA (food and drug administration) knows just how bad these things are, but big business wins every time. Have you ever read the book natural cures they dont want you to know about, or something like that. it would interest you.
See, to me, I call the fda a bandaid. They are only there to make things look good, like they really care and help us. But they are only a band-aid--a cover up for something real nasty.
Like, in that book, it explains that members of the fda are board members stockholders and whatnot in large pharmaceutical companies. That should be illegal.
why?
because lets say the pharm co. spends millions investing on a new drug. they test it finding out it is not safe for humans....hmmmm. the fda would approve it cause they dont want their stocks to go down!
Its happened before.

AND YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT THE SHAMPOO! MOST are like that. that is why it is imperitive to only buy organic! All natural is the second best. And alot of the chemicals are known cancer causing carcinogens too!
also, crap, I forget what it is called, but there is an ingrediant in anti-perperant deoderant that may be linked to breast cancer in women. Most women get breast cancer closest to their arm pits.... now I wonder why? SO I use organic deoderant too!
Also, toothpaste, I read that flouride is one NASTY chemical (its also in almost every houses tap water too). Look that one up on google, but make sure you havent just ate either! yuck!

hey, look into using essential oils (aura cacia sells some organic ones at health food stores and what not) to DISINFECT your house.... like door knobs and what not. Becuase yes, those nasty man made synthetic chemicals in 409 or mr clean will kill germs, but are counter-productive to your health. they kill the germs but then you breath them in and they soak into your skin, lowering your immunity due to their posions, and then you are more susceptible to getting sick when more germs, bacteria, and viruses come into your house.
some of these essential oils are
pine
lemon
eucalyptus
clove
and even lavender.
also white vinegar mixed in water with some essential oil works wonders too.

I have an extremely difficult time believing the canines regardless of the reality that a baby grow to be a bite toy. canines are magnificent at studying people. better effective than any species studied- dolphins, chimps, in spite of. A canines is time-honored with of the form between a man or woman and the different merchandise- residing or not. I agree that maximum pits do not kill that way, yet all of us understand not something about this pit. maximum canines gained't attack little ones, both. Who is time-honored with of what this canines grow to be questioning, yet in a legal experience, the canines grow to be the proximate reason for the shortcoming of life. a good number of issues should be reported about the mum (and are being reported), regardless of the indisputable fact that the canines is the reason the youngster died. it really is the reason the propaganda that "all canines should be rehabilitated" and "there are not any risky canines, in hardship-free words negligent people" are risky. convinced, the mum grow to be negligent, yet a canines in superb condition for human society shouldn't kill an toddler in spite of ways negligent the owner. people can hardly be blamed for going to the take care of and adopting a pit blend of indeterminate starting place and bringing it residing house to their relatives to stay part via part with an toddler. you spot each educate on animal planet praising the virtues of adopting, how pits purely have a foul rap, how they're many times a savior via rehabilitating the unfavorable, sweet creatures. it really is ridiculous. i don't have little ones, so I have sense tender taking a probability with take care of canines. when I have little ones, my canines will be previous and experienced, and any new canines will come from a breeder who I believe and appreciate.

The choice is ours... To either listen to what the "experts tell us" or to trust our instincts. We all have the right to say what we feel and to act on our beliefs. However if we let the government say what goes into our foods and water supply we have no choice but to eat what is there. We can fight it. But most are too lazy to put down the t.v.remote or step away from the computer to care. There is Fluoride in most city's water supply not to mention the Chlorine. The fluoride is to "give us stronger teeth" but what they don't mention is that Fluoride is responsible for 20% of colon cancers. Chlorine is a poison that kills pathogen that is in the water. But what they don't tell you is that it effects us too.
You can do something but let me know what.

Reason Being....Most people are not as well educated as you in this area, and blindly purchase it. I try my best to eat organic and natural. I do fail because I love chips and soda. But I do not eat many processed things. Thanks for the post though, you have enlighted me more.
btw: if more people start eating organic do you think the price of organic will go down or the quality of organic will go down? Just some food for thought (pardon the pun) I am hoping for the price to go down! lol.
