I am going away with my bf for V-day. From 2/14-2/18 out of town. I asked my employer for the 14th-16th off - he is telling me that the 16th is a no as he is taking off that day & needs me here. Problem is the reservations are made and I will be out of town - I have an ok job where I am given alot of flexability in my schedule but have also put up with alot of crap.

You asked and got the answer,No! You shouldn't have made reservations without knowing you have the day off.Either reschedule and tell your BF he needs to respect the fact you have a job and a responsibility, or you risk losing your job, and reference for future position. Future employers may find out you were more interested in not being at work when schedule. All in all, change the date and show up to work.

It will leave a bad taste in your bosses mouth that you call in sick If your vacation with your boyfriend is set in stone and you cant get that day off then quit because more than likely if you call out sick you will be fired its best to leave on good terms rather than drama good luck!!

quit the job, if they are treating you like crap then screw them! Ive put up with a crappy job for 5 years and i always told myself that when i find another job. But that never happened and i never thought that i would find a job if i ever just walked out. But i did
i think you should go and have a good time with your boyfriend and screw the job! You'll find something fast
