nope, 14 is still very young, I've heard of professional ballet dancers who didn't start until they were around 16 or 17. So no it's not too late and it's never too late if you're dancing for fun. I use to dance when I was very young then stopped for many years, now I'm 22 and just getting back into ballet again. I just take an adult beginner classes. So yeah it's not too late at all for you, but you should look into trying to find some beginner classes for teens that way you'll get to be in a class with kids around your own age. Good luck and have fun!

No, it's not too late. It's probably too late to be a pro-ballerina (most of the girls in ballet companies are already performing in the corps at that age), but ballet will certainly help you do the can-can at the Moulin Rouge! And ballet training is good for all kinds of dance, so you should start right away.

It is not too late to learn ballet - it never is. However; it is years too late to think seriously of becoming a professional ballerina - sorry, I am not trying to be mean here, just realistic. Competiton between women who aspire to become ballerinas is ferocious and 99% of those that eventually make it are already recognized as great talents in their local dance studios even before age 15. You might have better success at other forms of dance through VERY hard work and you will have to have a TON of talent.

BTW they do NOT dance ballet at the Moulin Rouge in Paris...trust me.....

It is never too late to start dancing. You are still at a good age to learn ballet. I never took ballet, yet, I have danced for my high school and college. I learned to dance tap and jazz, ballet is ideal to learn but I believe that jazz and tap is fun and reviews alot of ballet from the beginning.

Well it is never too late to learn something that you love. However, it might be too late if you plan on being a prima ballerina. But if you push yourself and maybe if you have a natural talent for it then maybe your dream could come true. But remember that if you do choose to go professional that college and further education is out of the question. To be the best you have to commit yourself 100%. I wish you luck!

You can never be too late for anything (especially at your young age).. Unless your goal is to get into Julliard by the time you are 18... now that might be pushing it.

It's never too late!! My father (44) took ballroom/salsa dancing lessons with my sister (23) a couple years ago and they are amazing at it!

I say you should go for it!
