In the 80's I saw a movie, probably direct to VHS and running on the back of Star Wars success, very much like the Hoff classic Starcrash.
The main plot was a typical battle of Good Vs Evil, the evil in this case being some space empress that posessed a large perspex Iron Maiden device that sucked the blood from her victims and was used as an elixir to maintain her youthful appearance - much like the previously mentioned Elizabeth Bathory.
I've got a feeling it may have been a dubbed Italian movie.
2nd time for this question so, no not Barbarella or Lifeforce - Elizabeth Bathory is referring to the Hungarian historical figure, if it was an actress I'd have looked up IMDB myself and have tried many plot searches. Unfortunately not Flesh Gordon or Sex Wars or any of the 'mainstream underground' direct to VHS offerings of the 80's I'm afraid. This is going to be a VERY obscure movie.

Oh - I should add - this was a Sci-Fi not something like a Hammer Horror with castles and stone but perspex and aluminum and Battlestar Galactica (original) like sets
