Runescape is the only one I can think of right off hand that is totally free. Lunatix Online is ok if you don't mind one that isn't much on graphics. Diablo & Diablo 2 have free online play, but you do have to buy the games first. The same goes for GuildWars.
Your best bet would be to probably save up $30 to $50 and buy a PC game with free online play. That's what I did. Although I also found World of Warcraft for $20, but it's $15 a month to play. I haven't tried it out yet...

Dude, nothing is good and free. If it is good and free, you have to pay subscription service to get the cool non-crappy stuff. You might as well just ignore them.
