the management at my company seems to think the employees have no rights. Were can i find the labor law regarding this? They have managers and leads without previous experience and the power that comes with those titles is going to their heads...employees are punished for using sick days, going to the restroom and drinking to much water or should I say certain employees are (you know the "yes anthing you say boss" people)

Yes, it is legal. If you are going too often/too long you are affecting their time and money. They aren't paying you to sit on your throne 2 hours a day.

If you don't like it, you're free to find another job.

The Department of Labor could answer this definitively for you. There should be a contact number posted somewhere at your workplace.

You are entitled to 2 15 minute breaks and 1 lunch. The breaks split between morning and after lunch.

Some people take advantage of the go whenever you want policy. Some people use sick days in conjunction with vacation time or regular days off. If it forms a pattern then yes, your bosses have a right to complain.

The drinking too much water is ridiculous, everyone needs to stay hydrated.

No it's not illegal. You may want to check with the equal employment opportunity in your state, they could possibly violating some rights, but as a rule, anytime away from active work for an employee can be documented. As someone that's been in supervision for 25 years, people do take advantage of breaks, but I also know of boss's harrassment to. Most employee's refer to me as the boss they want to work for. Employees take advantage sometimes but some boss's like you say freak over thier authority.

You're not the only one. At work, they say it is so they can record productivity. but it is really just big brother watching. I know a woman who got fired for answering a call from her doctor on her cell. She was waiting to find out if her tumor was malignant or not.

I'd quit. There are many other places to work. You fight it and your on the list. On your last day send an email to the head guy detailing the problem. Names and all.

No, it's probably not illegal for them to record those kinds of things, but it may be an indication that you need to find a different job...

Contact your State's Labor Department. At the very least, it's "harassment."
