I am in the end of my 5th week of pregnancy. the past 2 nights I have been having aches and pains in my hips when i sleep on my sides. Both sides. The achy feeling is annoying and I have no clue if it is related to pregnancy. Any advice?

I had horrible hip pains right away until the end, take tylonol sparingly- NOT ASPRIN or anything with asprin!!! Call your doc to make sure that's ok, also take a warm bath - NOT HOT - to relax in. GOOD LUCK and feel better

also you definately should be sleeping on your side, especially your left, that way the blood flows better to the baby

Pretty early on in pregnancy everything starts shifting to accomodate the baby. Your hips are probably just stretching out so in 35 weeks you can have a baby. Call the Dr. to be sure though. Always better to know than to wonder.

Try sleeping with a comfy pillow between your legs. During pregnancy, certain hormones will cause your ligaments to loosen and "relax" and your hips can loosen a bit as a result.
If you sit in a "leap frog" position and have your partner massage your back while your stretch forward, it helps immensely. Best of luck!

All your connective tissue softens to let your pelvis expand so baby can come down. Your hips are moving and this is normal. The muscles around them have been used to holding you a certain way and now they are forced to hold in a new way. Uncomfortable but normal. Massage by someone trained in pregnancy massage can help.

Sleep with a pillow between your legs. Making sure that your knees aren't touching each other and same for your ankles. This will relieve some of the discomfort.
