What kind of man wants to marry a 17 year old girl?
What kind of girl wants to marry a man who is on probation and likes young 'uns?
This is going to be another three kid, four year divorce plan. Brilliant! While you're at it, why not just go ahead and place all three kids immediately in foster homes?

There are two rules of thumb when it comes to a question like this.
1) Age of Consent
2) Age of Majority/Emancipation
In Michigan, the age of emancipation is 18 yet can go to 19 1/2.
As for the laws concerning marriage;
Applicants 18 years of age may marry without parental consent.
Applicants 16 years of age may marry with parental or legal guardian written consent.
Parents must appear with their identification with 16 or 17 year old applicants.
Custodial Parents must appear and bring proof of custody.
The requirement for premarital counseling for individuals applying for a Marriage License has been eliminated. Applicants will be provided with written educational material by the County Clerk regarding prenatal care and the transmission and prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
Before you leap to marriage....consider getting off probation and start with a clean slate!
Also consider that marrying at such a young age....how things will be in the future. Are you and your girl mature and financially able to live together making the payments for home, electric, telephone, water, and a miriad of others!
Do you have a job? Does SHE have a job?
