This is a very vague question. There are dozens of universities in NY state.... large, small, public, private, Ivy league, Catholic, country, city.... And what are you going to major in?

The most famous schools in New York are probably Cornell, Columbia, and NYU but there are many more really good schools.

Go to Collegeboard.com and look up some different schools. When you have a short list of ten or twenty then come back and ask some specific questions about the ones that appealed to you.
