Our family favorite is RUBY BRIDGES, the story of the first black child to integrate a white school in New Orleans. It is a Disney movie, and historically very accurate. Also it is great for Black History month. It gives a very positive message that addressed the need for all children to be able to go to good schools. There was no such thing as "separate but EQUAL." But the integration was achieved at this time without violence and prejudiced people began to change and realize how unnecessary and stupid their prejudices were.
