1- Air never gets there, so it doesn't air out.
2- When they shower, water and soap usually don't get there
3- After a while dead skin, sweat and a bunch of other stuff pile up there and you got the lovely smell!

i'm overweight but don't smell. That is discusting. skinny people smell too and its because they don't wash all needed areas. Same with bigger people. Some people don't feel it nessesary to clean under the cushions and that is descusting!
