Special sauce recipe:
The Recipe For Big Mac Special Sauce
From McMenu - McDonald's Do-It-Yourself Recipes:

1/4 cup KRAFT Miracle Whip
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons, heaping, WISHBONE deluxe French salad dressing (the orange stuff)
1/2 tablespoon HEINZ sweet relish
2 teaspoons, heaping, VLASIC dill pickle relish (Heinz dill relish also works)
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dried, minced onion
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon ketchup
1/8 teaspoon salt
Mix everything very well in a small container. There better be no streaks! Microwave 25 seconds, and stir well again. Cover, and refrigerate at LEAST 1 hour before using. (to allow all of the flavors to "meld") Makes nearly 1 cup… enough for about 8 Big Macs.

It really is Thousand Island Dressing. If you look at that recipe below from the McDonalds site and cross reference it with a classical Thousand Island Dressing from a cooking textbook...same thing.

Yes it is, and they also put reconstituted onions on it. That is dried onions that they have added cold water to and let sit in a pan for about 10 minutes before using. You also get one slice of pickle, sometimes 2 depending on who dresses it. You can make it yourself, just use Miracle Whip, ketchup, and sweet pickle relish. You can buy the onions in any store too.

Well...I don't know or really care that much...But from what I remember, the taste reminds me of mayo, relish, and ketchup all mixed together into one sauce. I only eat a big mac maybe once every year or two though.

So...are you going to share your answer with us, tiff?
