Yes...and that goes for black British as well as white. The word 'quite' is somewhat extreme, but like it or not - it's here. It might be argued that we've come a long way from, say the Keep Britain White group of the 50's, or the 'if you want a nig(g)er for a neighbour, vote Liberal or Labour', voiced by a Birmingham M.P. in 1964, at about the same time Enoch Powell was shining his knuckleduster not too far away, in Wolverhampton, but it looks like the current fear that Muslim extremists have inserted has spilled over to all who 'look foreign' - the usual 'suspects' like Asians and Afro-Caribbeans (British all) with some of the latter group, despite being lawful deciding to return the serve...why should Brit. whites have all the paranoia and chippyness...the blacks' parents may have been part of the Toxteth and Brixton riots of decades past, and realise returning the serve is the only way to keep on top of things, and if it means being just as racist, so be it?

i wouldn`t say English Scottish or Welsh people are quite racist ,more like very they are racist against each other let alone anyone else
I am English from Yorkshire here we tend to have a strong dislike for anyone who comes from the next village

Every country and nationality is racist! We are all from other races!!! We are designed to be racist to survive!! Every race I have in my family have other races they can't stand! Go back thousands of years and it was an instinct since the time we were created to keep with our own tribe, breed with our own tribe and defend our own tribe!! It is a basic genetic instinct to be 'racist'. Saying that I don't think the way to deal with other 'tribes' is to kill or maim them.....but I do think people should start accepting that we don't all have to bend over backwards against our instincts.....saying that I don't think people should be rude or offensive either!!!!! I'm polite to everyone and have a VERY mixed ethnic family tree.....8 different races and counting(!) saying that...I accept people as people......if they respect me...I respect them......I think the British are really finding it hard at the moment to NOT over react...seriously though can you blame them??

They encompass these 'ethnic' groups, house them, give them benefits, put them above others sometimes and the reward is treachery, ghetto's, isolationist behaviour, non intergration and terrorism....hmmm...not hard to see that if someone pokes you in the eye each time you see them then you are likely to want to stop seeing them after a while!!!!

No - I would say that there is a proportion of British people as there are in every single Country that are racist, but these are a minority and not representative of the entire population. If they were, the British Nationalist Party would be in power...

You presume that all British people are the same. Same views, same reactions.

I believe that there are racists. There are also ANTI racists.
Racists dislike people because of where they are from or what they look like or even what they believe.
ANTI racists use their race to get what they want.

EVERY country, race and religion has its fair share of people who are against others.

It's the same as most countries there are some racist people but the majority aren't.
If Britain had a high amount of racists there wouldn't be the high number of foreign nationals living here

Speaking as a white person I think that white people are inherently racist. Everyone of us have prejudices regardless of ethnicity, but white people hold the monopoly on power and control to be racist. Education and training is the way forward in understanding and accepting the value of diversity.

We have reason to be, since the flood of immigrants. Now we have a shortage of houses, hospital appointments, dentists,doctors, and trust, to go around. I don't think we were any more racist than other countries, before we were made to feel 2nd class citizens..........TOAD STOOL....You assume too much. How many Brits have you met? When I lived in Cyprus, where there is a mixture of Greeks and turks, the definition of Turkish Delight was a busload of greeks going over a cliff. Can that be called racism, or is it just wishful thinking?

Any generalization about British people is in itself racism. Maybe you should think about that! There are racists everywhere, perhaps including in your own mirror, hmmm???
