you can yes. however, you shouldn't intentionally lose weight while you are pregnant. most women lose weight because their morning sickness prevents them from keeping anything down. i never had morning sickness, but i did lose a few pounds here and there in the first few months.

Most people do, but pregnancy is no time to diet. Your baby needs all the food and nutrition he can get.
If you want to lose weight do so after the baby is born (breastfeeding will help you lose weight quicker, although you shouldn't diet then either. It will help you lose it faster though than if you didn't breastfeed).
If you are concerned about being "fat" and pregnant, just try to stay within your necessary weight gain and don't go over. If you notice you are going over the required weight gain, look at your diet and modify it for less of the unhealthy foods and more of the healthy ones, but don't just not eat so much. If you are hungry, your baby is hungry.

If you go into pregnancy thinking you need to lose weight, you'll find yourself incredibly hungry. And there is a risk that the baby will grow poorly if you're really malnourished. Although since babies are pretty efficient at getting what they need, if you're not eating enough, it's more a threat to you than the baby.

With all the morning sickness you can loose weight. I lost 15lbs the first 6 months of my 1st prenancy then I gained 50 the last 3 months. Its ok to lose some weight while you are pregnant as long as your baby is growing ok. Keep up with your OB apointments

Just eat sensibly throughout pregnancy cutting down on food drastically will make you feel terrible. Leave dieting (healthy eating and exersise) till atleast 6 weeks after you've had your baby.

I lost weight up to 14 weeks, I had horrible morning sickness. If you are keeping nothing done, there is nothing to gain any weight from.

this is true because your body is burning off more calories as it is making all the organs of the foetus up until the end of the third month. this is why we are especially tired at this time
