It happened to me several times. It was a dreadful feeling. As if I was conscious, but couldn't open my eyes nor say anything.

Sleep paralysis. You are awake but your muscles are not

Sometimes I experience a grim battle so control my muscles half awake and there is a dreadful feeling to it like a nightmare

Worst time I had it was when I woke in the middle of the night and a presence was sat on the edge of my bed near my shoulder. I tried to turn over but all I could do was move my eyes. It was no dream, under the circumstances I was wider awake than I have ever been. When the presence lifted from my bed after about 20 minutes only then could I swing over and turned my lamp on.

It did not seem too interested in me but if It had been I couldnt have protected myself as in what happens in the hag reports

Science says it is all hallucination, but there was weight on my bed! I distinctly felt the pressure next to me and when it lifted

Yep, I've sometimes dreamed that I couldn't wake up; sometimes the dream included someone trying to kill me and I knew I could like if I work up but I couldn't!
I have to admit that I'd normally have these dreams when I ate a heavy meal or cheese just before going to bed...

Yes, I've dreamt that any number of times. You're right - it's a very unpleasant sort of feeling. I don't know if it signifies anything, but I can at least tell you that it doesn't happen to me as much since I divorced!
