By first of all realizing and accepting that the only person you can really control is you. when you accept that as a fact you can confidently get to know yourself and your strengths. develop ideasthat can help people and make a difference and find a way to spread those ideas. start a book club featuring books of your philosophy, a something along those lines. If you are meant to be a leader and people like you ideas then you will develop a following.

Surely will not be trough the force either confusing or using the people, the only valid way is through the intelligence demonstrated with respect to others, teaching when you know or lowly accepting the knowledges and guidance when you are wrong or ignore, in other words, accepting that you are not the center of the universe, and in a natural way people will approach you with respect because they will realize that they are in front of the wisdom and humility. Geniuses have made history just applying this formula.

First - have power over yourself. If you cannot control yourself, you will never convince others to follow you. After that, more than anything, be of service to others, and to your community; you may not have "power" in the traditional sense, but your input will be heard and felt and respected, and that can be far more powerful than holding any office.

Study hard. Study the books that are endless in your line of interest and study the people around you. Then when you know what you're talking about, you become the Answer and not the Question!!!
