The majority of the non GLBT people who use this site come here and insult gays by calling us a bunch of over-sexed, promiscuous, disease spreading degenerates...and worse.
These same people ignore the honest and sincere questions posted by gays..i.e. the one about "sex life" after 12 years of monogamous relationship...and they race to the obscene question about a guy who brags about his GF stuffing him with "toys".
Hateful to me as the gates of Hades is that man who hides one thing in his heart and speaks another. ~Homer

It's been my experience that those who talk the loudest have nothing to say.

Hmmm...
1. I haven't noticed a majority, but I have noticed the hate.
2. I don't believe in being over-sexed, but I believe hateful people are the true degenerates.
3. Some of us have never been lucky enough to have a relationship anywhere near 12 years, so we can't really offer an answer based on personal knowledge.
4. I don't think there is anything obscene about toys of any sort.
5. Answeing questions whether they are sincere or not can still lead people to be more open-minded.
6. Finally, yeah, I can see your point, but I hope you can see mine as well. I do get very sick of @ssholes that insult others out of fear and ignorance. It is just too easy for them to feel superior and to be bullies when their only confrontations are made from a keyboard. ...........How safe for them.

I've often wondered what draws them here. I guess it's just their way of dealing with their demons. And of course the titillation factor.
I have a "fundie" friend who is really a sweet person, but she's convinced that gays have a significant effect on the cost of health care and health insurance in this country: "...their lifestyle affects us all, because the diseases that promotes, are life-long and will make all our rates go up." Of course, she wasn't able to defend her belief with any statistics or offer any argument to the likelihood that the prospect of legal marriage would lessen the incidence of promiscuity. I think this stuff comes from the pulpit.

I have to disagree with Violets answer. I'm straight & I care what people think of me but the point is there are people on here who have real problems & need advice from someones whose been through it & the other stupid bigoted questions should not be allowed on here. My solution would be to get the GLBT people on here permission before posting a question. After all it is their site

Yes, I notice that. They probably have some preconceived notion of gay people as thought by their fundamentalist churches and evangelists. But this isn't an excuse to bash gay people because they never even try to understand the glbt community to begin with, always "god says this and that". If this anti-gay "god" is so almighty, I wonder why they need to come in here to preach the "good word"? Probably with the intention of recruiting new people into their churches cos some of them get paid for doing that.

I notice this way too much too. It really starts to piss me off (not that I should let it get to me but I do) when I read questions from people with legitimate concerns or are sincerely seeking clarity and some wise *** shoots off what he feels is a snappy one liner that is not only insulting, but stupid, and ill informed. sure there are questions aimed at fun or just intending to raise debate but not all are. Just yesterday two answers that stuck out in my head to a pair of questions were simply "kill *******" and a reference to the only difference btw 2 groups of people is "the caliber bullet you shoot them with." As much as non GLBTI people come in here to see what we're talking about it makes you wonder if maybe they don't have a few questions about their own sexuality lurking in the shadows sometimes.

I haven't noticed that, but I am sure you are telling the truth. Some people use yahoo answers as a vehicle to promote hate speech.
But I support and your right to get married and adopt children and have all the rights that other Americans have (and frankly take for granted).

I like to think it's panic. They know they're losing and the world is turning against them, so they run around hysterically waving their arms and shouting that the sky is falling. Hopefully this hatred will die out in a generation or so and our descendants will be more enlightened.

The one that bothers me are the people who equate being gay with pedophiles. Gay is loving and being attracted to people of the same sex and it's nobody elses business who they are with. Pedophilia is using children, and is totally evil.
A little off topic, sorry.

I've noticed it. I only wish there were something I could do about it. It's a classic case of bigotry and hate.
