Try the Toyo brand of cutters. I have been a stained glass professional for years and these are simply the best cutters around. They have a see through plastic handle which holds glass cutting oil and automatically oils as you cut. Because the handle is clear you can see if you need more oil. The ball on the end is used to tap the glass and you unscrew it to add more oil. The cutting head is easy and economical to replace instead of having to get a whole new cutter. I prefer the Toyo Comfort Grip Supercutter, but some other people like the Toyo Pistol Grip Supercutter. Both are available at http://store.allstainedglass.com/cuttingtools.html and elsewhere. Happy Cutting!

They tend to all have the same life since it is the cutting roller that wears away on them. Look for one with a comfortable handle and buy a bunch of them.

Keep the roller pivot clean with kerosene. Avoid rerunning over a scored area to stay away from abrasive chips stuck in the old groove. Discard ones that are no longer making clean cuts.
