i mean really, there is no way the Colts could have come back from being that far down unless the Patriots let them. The NFL has decided that it's time for one of their top QBs to get a superbowl ring so he can go to the NFL HOF like his daddy.

It isn't the first time either. Superbowl III. The Jets won. They were lousy. And AFL team trying to hang with the big boys. There was more to it than one game, there was the expansion of the NFL at stake. Merging the two leagues AFL and NFL was the goal. Thing is that unless an AFL team could beat an NFL team in the superbowl it was never going to happen. So, let's let an AFL team win. It just happened to be the Jets that year. So, instead of the sacrificial lamb that they were, they got to be the lions because the other team was told to lay down and give up the fight.

Sometimes I wonder. Even though the Eagles play calling was bad at times, and there were a few dropped balls, the Saints got away with murder as far as holding our defense. And I mean chokeholds around the neck that weren't called. Facemask against Wetbrook, again not called. Last year, not being either a Pats or Seahawks fan, I felt the Hawks got robbed. When you start to notice the refs and have trouble agreeing with the call when you see the replay, then you know they're affecting the game. Even Chris Berman said it after the Eagles-Saints game. another announcer said sometimes the officials get caught up in the game too, and the whole story (like NO and Katrina).

Let's face it the NFL is a cash delivery system for the wise guys in Vegas.
The NFL is the only league that requires by law that accurate and up-to date injury reports be published.
Coaches hate the idea , so who needs that kind of information ? Those who bet on the games
The NFL wanted to take the inside information edge away from the wise guys so they gave the average guy the info in the naive attempt to even out the odds. All it did was make it legit and increase the revenue the wise guys took in.

I am a big Patriots fan and even I have to admit that the Patriots lost because their defense ran out of steam during the two long drives that ended the first half and began the second half. They played a long and hard game against San Diego the week before on a long distance trip, which probably did not help either.

There are some games that I have seen that make we wonder whether the referees are on the up and up, like last year's Super Bowl. However, the Patriots lost that game fair and square.

P.S. Manning will get into the hall of fame win or lose. He will either be the next John Elway or the next Dan Marino depending on what happens next. Just enjoy the Super Bowl and wait till next season.

Sounds to me you're rambling about a conspericy in the NFL. I say enough! The playoffs were never fixed & the Colts got lucky because they came back from behind to beat their opponents fair & square. So what if Peyton Manning wants a Super Bowl ring? His dad never got one & his brother someday would want one.

C'mon man. The fix is notnotnotnot in. Many factors contribute to the winning or losing of close football games. Individual efforts by specific players, team-wide emotion shifts, blown coverages on pass plays, slips trips and falls, and on and on just to name a few that come quickly come to mind.

I'm not saying it's never happened. There was the famous incident involving a Chicago White Sox baseball team in the early nineteen hundreds. However that was one rare instance in championship-level athletic contests.

The difficult to understand can sometimes be explained, and sometimes not. But you need not search for darkness.

If the NFL was truly fixed, don't you think that the New Orleans Saints would be playing in the Super Bowl? Your team lost.

I've often wondered too. It would be easy to place some cash in influential pockets. It would be grossly expensive though. For example to pay off New Englands seconday you would have to fork out enough cash to make it worthwhile. You would have to pay them more than they would recieve from a super bowl apperance and the bonusues that follow that. Then there are the intangeables, no matter how much you pay off someone a well placed helmet followed by a fumble could blow your investment.

No, it isn't fixed. There is no way in this modern age that that could be pulled off. Also, the Colts beat the Pats twice this year, so why are you so surprised? The Pats defense got tired, and Manning never gave up. That is why the Colts won.

The league is not rigged. Have you ever thought to think that the colts are actually capable of scoring a lot of points in a hurry. To be honest if you got weapons like that you are not out of a game until the very end.

Joe Namath was ahead of his time, he could throw the ball with anybody even today. When you have a weapon, anything can happen.

Ease up I know you are bitter.

Tom Brady? Is that you?

I know you're looking for an excuse for throwing that interception but this is not becoming of a former Super Bowl MVP.

By the way, Archie never was in the Super Bowl, so a Super Bowl is not a requirement for the Hall.
