We don't even know if animals perceive time, as perceiving time takes a complex level of conscousness that animals may or not have.
Of course, an animal perceives time in the short run, to know, for example, how fast to run to catch prey or outrun a predator.
But whether they perceive time in the long run, as a year seems a lot longer to a 5 year old human than to an 80 year old human, it would seem so, if their consciousness is complex enough to percieve time in this way at all.
A butterfly, for example, "knows" when it is the correct time of year to lay eggs, hatch into a caterpillar, spin a cocoon, emerge, mate, lay eggs, after which it usually dies. But does this year seem longer to the butterfly than to a giant tortise, which can live over a hundred years? that would perhaps include an awareness of one's own mortality. It is generally accepted that only humans have this. But do they? Does a rabbit run from a wolf because the rabbit is aware of its mortality? Or does it simply run because that's what rabbits do?
Interesting philosophical question, not really a physics question.
