What kind of pet and what kind of sickness? It would really depend on that. Would I miss work or leave early/come in late to take any of my pets to the vet? YES because that is part of the requirements with getting a pet but too many people do not go into pet owning that way.

Never stayed home, but left work early to take sick cat to the vet. Pets are family, too!

Sick like it threw up on the carpet--I would clean it up and go to work. Sick like it needs a vet, then I think missing a few hours of work to get the animal to a vet is a good idea.

Yes, and I just did. My pet was limping and in pain, and I took him to the vet, had him checked out. He had been attacked by another animal and was really chewed up, deeply bruised. They fixed him, up, put a cone collar on him, and drugged him and sent him home. I stayed home the rest of the day, just to make sure he was going to make it.

Depends on how sick. Vomiting and diarrhea yes. Lethargic and lack of appetite no. BUT that's only after I took them to the vet and made sure that nothing is seriously wrong.

And I would take off of work to take them to the Vet.

They are my children - in fact I like (love) them more than I do most people.

Yes. As said above, pets are family. They rely on us for sustenance, support, and love and I wouldn't find it right to leave them when they're ill and in need. Even at a vet's office, I would sit outside and wait for the chance to go visit them and let them know everything is okay.

Yes, if it was really sick. To me, my pet is my family. You'd stay home for a sick kid, wouldn't you?

If I took my dog to the vet and he said not to leave the dog unattended then I would stay home or make arrangements for someone else to stay with him.

Depending on the severity of the illness... then yes... esp after surgery or major injury.

Depends on how sick and if I get paid sick time, if so, then hell yes!
