I was engaged about a year ago and have been broken up for about the same time. Though we lost contact for about past 2 months. We were together for about 4 years and he cheated on me during the second to last year of our relationship. After all was acclaimed for and all was forgiven; my fiancé’s mistress would not leave us alone. Every time she would come to pay us a visit I would get these dreams and sometimes even hallucinations. I would dream of some kind of snake attacking me or just dwelling beside me.
Some time before the departure of my relationship a lot of things were going on between my ex-fiancé and I. Back then I had 2 best friends one was a boy and the other was a girl. I was acquainted with the girl much longer then the boy. The boy and I were really close and would often have a day of fun with my fiancé. He was almost like a brother. Whenever my ex fiancé would disappoint me my friend would be there to give me a helping hand. Now after some time my friend and I had a connection which should have never succeeded into a reality. Though it did and after the terrible incident we never spoke to each other again. Now my other best friend became aware of what had happened and gave solemn promise to never discuss this with anyone. Though it wasn’t discussed I was utterly miserable for months and did not know anything other then to cry. Now here the turning point, one day I was sitting on the sofa with my feet extended out towards my best friend’s feet. Then I saw a snake at the corner of my eye, the snake was the color of my friend skin tone, directly hissing in my ear. I immediately screamed with much fear( I thought it was a real snake). We immediately got up and ran and after a while inspected the area. Now till this day we have never found a snake in the house or even a snake skin. Though later on that evening my friend and I had a dispute and she spoke with my fiancé. She told him about the whole thing that had happened with my friend. Now ever since then we have not been able to amend what happened. The snake I saw was a real omen of what was to come into my life. I have never in the entirety of my life have experienced a more devastating year. Just about 4 months ago I had a dream about a snake attacking me. I ended up killing it. My other friend had given me a tiger eye necklace just before I had the dream and said to wear it so that it would protect me. She was pregnant at the time. The dream I had started off with her walking next to me. Then she had left and a snake came to attack me and I killed it. I have never been able to kill any of these snakes and the connections have only been linked with my ex. Not to mention, I never considered the girl a good friend. After that dream I had another one in the same night. In this one I had seen a baby and the baby was situated in a dark area. I had a sense that I had saved the child by killing the snake.. Afterward I discussed this with my friend and she had no clue what to make of it. My friend ended up aborting the child. No here is what I wonder was killing the snake a sign that my ex will come back or was it a connection with my friend. Oh and my ex is with the mistress now. He went with her knowing that it would be the only way to hurt me. I know in the heart of heart that he still loves me, he is just up set. Please give me some kind of understanding on this whole story.
Thank you

The snake only appeared 2 times in dream and once in real life. They were not similar in there appearance. It was never in my constant memory. If anything I practically forgot about it at that time. Each experience had months between. Now I 'm wondering how someone can see a real snake that doesn’t exist. I'm wondering if anyone out there has had this kind of experience. Also take in consideration that the problems arising after the snake experience have been life altering. Vary traumatic!!

If you are having dreams about, say, snakes, there's a few different ways we can look at that...
The first is a well-known psychological principle called the 'Pygmalion Effect'. In Greek mythology, Pygmalion was a sculptor who loved a statue so much that a goddess brought it to life for him. So the fact that he loved it with such intensity made it something that could be loved.
People do this kind of thing all the time. For example, if you think someone is going to act in a way you don't like, it would be normal to be upset with them. But if someone thinks that your upset with them for no reason, they'll probably be more inclined to not accommodate you and act in ways you don't like. Or vice versa, if you're really nice to someone because you think they like you, they're more likely to like you even if they didn't in the first place.
And so it might well be with these dreams of yours. If you have a dream that something horrible is about to happen, and that makes you walk around being tense and edgy for days, then I'd say that it's a sure bet that something awful WILL happen to you. But it will be YOU that caused it, not a prophesy of the future.
Another very common psychological principle is known as 'expectation'. If you're expecting something to happen, your mind makes you more prone to see it - it becomes hypersensitive to things that might qualify as whatever you're looking for. So if you are expecting to see snakes all over the place, it is actually quite likely that your brain will start identifying any number of things as snakes based on more and more superficial resemblances. This isn't likely to be a full-blown delusion or hallucination... instead you'll see something out of the corner of your eye, your brain will say, 'SNAKE!', and when you go to look, you'll just see wavy power cord or hose and wonder where the snake went.
If either of these things are going on, then much of your frustration is your own doing. Calm down. Take some time each day to try and rest and be at peace. Trying to find and develop in inner core of stability will only help you even if none of the above is going on, and will do you a world of good if it is.
All right. Now that we're calm, there are a few other things that might be going on as well. Part of what happens when you're asleep is your subconscious mind gets a better voice. Your brain is really very complex, and has a lot of things going on at the same time, most of which you are probably unaware of. This is how sometimes solutions to problems you've been working on can occur to you when you're not thinking about them - you aren't CONSCIOUSLY thinking about them, but other parts of your brain are still working away sub-consciously. Even things you think you've forgotten.
This means that sometimes (not always by any stretch of the imagination) something you are dreaming about can contain information you didn't notice consciously before. You may not have paid attention to the hint of strange perfume on your boyfriend, or the irregularities in his schedules, but your subconscious mind may have put two and two together and built up the idea that he was being unfaithful to you. In this way, dreams can sometimes be warnings and messages about things you know but that you don't KNOW that you know. So it's possible some of the dreams you are having that seem to come true are simply derived from regular predictions that you might have consciously made if you had thought about it, or doubts and beliefs that you didn't really want to admit to yourself.
So it can sometimes be useful (now that we're calm) - when you receive a dream that seems to be important - to consider why it might be so. And then (without prejudicing things) pay attention to evidence that both supports and refutes whatever meaning you get from the dream. In this way, you can sort of translate sub-conscious work into conscious work. And once you are consciously working on a problem, your subconscious will usually stop bothering you about it, even if you come to a different conclusion than it did.
There is a final possibility. Perhaps you actually are seeing the future. Because there's so much going on in a typical person's head (see how long it took us to get here?) that this is a hard thing to prove in the best of circumstances. Frankly, it doesn't much matter whether you are really seeing the future or not. If you are getting information that's not from your senses, all you can do is the same thing you do with your sensory information - decide whether it's valid or not and then act upon it as reasonably as you can.
Hope that helps! Peace.
PS: Since we're on the subject of snakes, it sounds like your ex-boyfriend might be one. Whether he still loves you or not is irrelevant. He obviously cannot treat you in a way you deserve to be treated. Tell yourself that you deserve better (you do) and go out and find it!

I personally don't belive in animal totems...but the snake dream was probably warning you to be extra around certain people.
As for seeing a snake, it was probably a bad spirit messing with your mind. Sometimes when youre so afraid of something you can actually see an image of the the thing youre afraid of.

SNAKES in dreams are your enemies in real life trying to hurt you....you succeeded in killing your snake in the dream....but you do sound a bit paranoid....the "real" snake was your overactive imagination taking over.....not a biggie.
you should NOT be with your ex....he DOES not love YOU.....he has moved on, which is what YOU should do now....go find some peace and happiness....trust me......your vibes are very depressing.....!?! are you on meds? goodluck.

I don't understand half of it (sorry!) but I think it's pretty scary! The snake might be the enemy in your life but who was your enemy? um.... I don't know what else to say! That must of been a weird experience!
