I'm just curious to find out some answers that are concerning me about Economics. I have an interest in how productivity and demand affect America, shortage/surplus, Recession/Inflation, etc. I'm currently thinking about majoring in Economics, with minor electives in social sciences and some math courses (To supplement the econ).

My career goal is to achieve a Ph.D. in Economics. I would like to becoming a consultant for government, private business, corporations, etc. I also would like to dabble in collegiate level teaching (Maybe to MBAs and Undergrads).

I also would like to do something social in the business setting, consulting (as I said before), managing, etc. I have recently read that it is better to major in Econ than to dive into Business. I love the aspect of the Business world.
How feasible is this goal?

If you want a PhD in economics, then your plan is better than getting a business degree. Business tends to be more practical & won't help you as much in graduate school.

Your plan is a good one except for one thing. You say that you are planning on taking some math courses to supplement the economics. If you want a PhD, take a lot of math classes. You should take advanced classes in statistics, real analysis and linear algebra.

That sounds like a very good, reachable goal - and if you stick with it, will be a good focus for you throughout college. Having a plan, especially this detailed, is always a good idea, and the more you prepare, the more likely you are to reach your goal.

Good luck!

Getting a BBA might supply you a greater effectual history in Accounting and can help you greater effectual comprehend graduate point accounting. i do no longer think of that the Econ. degree might supply you sufficient publicity to accounting. i'm no longer announcing that is impossible although. basically that a BBA might make you greater mushy with the top point accounting concepts. (that are no longer that distinctive from undergrad accounting instructions in case you question me)
