Doesn't matter, Data, Music, they are the same. Just make sure it is the CD-R becasue most cd players won't play the CD-RW

CD-R or CD-RW - any brand - quality is as good as the original
I use Nero for burning- its probably the best.
Very good - get an authentic cd - it wont allow you to burn some
CD's like Blockbuster films and some copyright are by region.
Otherwise your not breaking the law if you have an original - your just preserving your original for greater enjoyment.

The electronics section at Walmart or Target for deals. Best Buy but only if they are on sale. Make sure you don't get DVD disks by mistake. You probably want CD-R, not CD-RW. RWs are re-writable, b ut won't play in as many players.

Actually there is a difference between Music and general Data CDr's, but for a computer, use CD + or - R cd's. Blank Music cd's are generally for home cd recording units when mixing on your HI Fi, so you can't use them for data storage for your computer.

I have always used the brand "infinity". I have never had a problem with these cds. I used to pick up a stack of 100 for £15 at computer fairs.

You can use the normal CD-R (read only) for the purpose. If you may want to rerecord on the CD later then You should get CD_RW (read-write) it is little bit more expensive the CD-Rbut not that much.

Recommend Verbatim. Best prices are online. Always go for brands and speeds printed on the box. Avoid TDK, Maxell and Sony like the plague, they're sh*t. Don't burn at full speed either, 8x max to avoid drop outs. Also rip your mp3's at 192kbps for CD quality sound, 128kbps are noticably sh*t.
