I'm at high school and recently there has been a ban on wearing black combats. The school uniform just says that you must wear the school tie, a white blouse or shirt and black trousers or skirt, and at the beginning of the year me and my mates asked if it was OK to wear combats and the deputy head teacher said that it was.
The parents are happy enough to let their children wear combats and the other teachers say they think they look smart with a blouse.
Before the ban we all wore the proper school uniform so there wasn't any trouble, but now people who don't like the school trousers are just wearing jeans and any old thing to school. If they just let us wear combats then everyoe would wear them and the school uniform would be worn the whole time.
What do you thin is acceptable?

Definately a school uniform. Problems arise when the rules have their corners cut slightly. Do you honestly think combats are school uniform? Come on wear the uniform and wear your combats out. You will all be the same then. There is nothing worse than not having to wear uniform and have the micky taken out of you because you can't afford the 'top clothes'. Its horrible.

I think it's fair if you're still allowed to wear trousers even if they're not combats. In my school you have to wear a skirt. I don't really think combats are smart enough for school uniform.

To be honest i don't think that wearing combats is a very smart way to represent your school, you should wear what the teachers tell you to. If you were in a job that had a policy to wear a uniform you would have to wear it or you would be sacked! That's what school is all about!!!!

I think black combats look better than blue jeans, but if the jeans are black, I would also find them acceptable.

But it doesn't matter what I think, it is up to the school governers.

you where a school uniform to identify yourself and also so that you all look similar. IE rich kids with top rags look the same as the poorer kids and stops some discrimination.

I think you should ask to have a conference with the person who makes the rules (if you don't know, it is probably the principal). Explain your opinion about this to him/her and they will probably consider your decision. Oh, and you might want to bring your parents with you so that you will be taken more seriously. I hope it works out!

i guess that youll have to just deal with the uniform until you graduate and let the people in charge deal with what you are allowed to wear.

i think that you should go with the uniform but start wearing black eye-liner, put your hair in your face, and become a nonconformist! Oh and get yourself a snake bite!

you're too self unsleeping. you'll not in any respect get everywhere with this ideas-set. you is purely not wealthy and useful except you regulate, because wealthy and useful people do not supply a damn about what different people imagine of them.
