100! The child needs to learn how to act/react in a social environment. This affects all aspects of life. Imagine having someone who is socially inept come in for a job interview.

100%! Social skills. Children must learn how to accept one another as Vlad human being's.
emotional skills? that would depend on their home life and how they are treated by others. If all children are at the 100 mark in their social skills then all kids will develop to a 100% in their emotional skills.Being mistreated would cause poor emotional skills. So these are two separate issues.

I want to say 100% --- but an educated guess would be 25%.
We've seen children from Dar fur who've lived weeks/ months standing up in a bathroom in fear that they would be executed like their families. Then when they are free to leave the confined space they endure rape, beatings, and other crimes committed in war. Yet, they come out better human beings than many. Even authors like Ann Frank (The Diaries of Ann Frank) show that her social development overcame adversity.
Einstein was an isolationist. He did not do well playing with other children, and dropped out of school at an early age. He also failed in the accounting profession ... yet, his lack of social development allowed him to find brilliance in science and astronomy.

100 ! Emotional and social skill are important as it helps one individual to better understand one another. Its the foundation in which children developed a habit to seek to understand why one behave the way one does.
Children learns thru observation. It doesnt mean that children will grow up to become an insensitive person just because the condition they live in are negative to their social development. In fact I believe they will tend to become more understanding and forgivable from the suffering they experienced. Its natural that we as human do not want others to experience the hardship we went thru. Our defence mechanism will naturally lead us to ensure other human being doesnt suffer our fate.
Einstein is a brilliant physicist and it is well documented that he has inept social skill. What I like to believe is he has a very good social skill when it comes to interacting with people of the same inclination as he is, fellow physicist and scientist like him self. He may has problem interacting with the bus conductor but with whatever minimal social and emotional skill he has, he used them to the fullest to make others understand and appreciates his physics theoram.
