I don't have the game. I could look up the game and see available characters or I could propose a hypothetical team and let you see why each is chosen.
To establish a strong hero team you'll need:
A brick- a strong character hard to hurt (the Hulk?)
An athlete- someone agile just in case (Spiderman?)
A Martial Artist- Good fighting skills (Wolverine?)
A Leader- A willing and forceful personality (Cap?)
Energy based- for Ranged attacks (Ironman?)
You could build a team around certain concepts, Some characters fit more than one niche. You may also need someone who can fly (in the above group, Ironman fills this niche) or have other abilities.
From the comics you can look at core teams to see how your team stacks up.
Original X-Men:
Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Iceman, Beast, and Angel
Avengers:
Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Ironman, Wasp, and Giantman
(A lot of strength in this group, the first real test was bringing the Hulk in)
Fantastic Four:
Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and the Thing
Defenders:
Dr. Strange, Silver Surfer, The Hulk and Spiderman
Fantastic Four (Substitute Team):
Silver Surfer, the Hulk, Wolverine, Spiderman

from my above notes you'll see that the Surfer fills in several niches as well. He's an energy-based flying brick. Go figure. Ironman is always a good choice because he's versatile as well. Try to pick multi-layered characters. Hope that helps.

action pictures originate from the comics, yet they do no longer look to be a similar. as an occasion, Iron guy from the comics has stepped forward fits that are embedded in him, allowing him to easily think of of it and evidently. Iron guy 3 grew to become into to spotlight the guy in the back of the wholesome, and prepare that Tony stark is a genius mechanic. the story basically shows that iron guy isn't Tony stark, yet Tony IS ironman. without him, there could be no fits. The scene with him doing away with the arc reactor shows that he's largely on top of issues and that he does no longer ought to place self belief in his fits with a view to be a hero. additionally , this isn't any longer a delicate in his chest yet a gadget that forestalls shrapnel from getting into his heart and killing him. If I have been you, i might concentration on why The mandarin grew to become into no longer correct shown. He grew to become into thoroughly distinctive from the comics, and did no longer have a similar identity/powers.
