I recently got a PSP and am wondering something. I saw a video on YouTube of someone loading up Final Fantasy Tactics for the playstation on it and I also noticed the other games on the PSP were other Playstation games like Final Fantasy VII and VIII. He said something in the video description about a program called Frimware. I'm not going to download anying Playstation roms but is there a way to store my Playstation games on my PSP and play them through Firmware or any other method.

Currently, there are 2 ways to play PS1 games on your PSP:

Legal Way:

Update your PSP to Sony's Firmware 3.0 and above (you can download it form Sony). Use a PS3 to purchase PS1 games online and download it to your PSP. As far as I know, Final Fantasy Tactics, FF7 and FF8 are not available this way.

Not So Legal Way:

Update your PSP to a hacked version of Sony's Firmware 3.03 (most people refer it to Dark Alex's 3.03 OEc). But the update process is not easy and very risky and can turn your PSP unusable (they call it bricked). Once you have updated your firmware, you need to rip your PS1 games into roms (you need 2 programs to do that) and put the rom in the memory stick.

BTW, Firmware is the operating system of your PSP (i.e. like Windows XP on computers)

If you like final fantasy like I do, you should get dissidia 012. It's like a game were you have characters from different final fantasy games. I through XII. It's a fighting game but you can set it to RPG mode so you command your character. I would check it out if you don't already have it.
