China should let Taiwan declare independence. It won't but it should. Truth is, Taiwan was the loser, challenged by communists the KMT lost and retreated and took Taiwan. From that point on, the people of Taiwan have manifest a destiny much different than that of those on the mainland. Having lived in both countries I can attest to the differences between the two. Chinese and Taiwanese are not the same. Even in places in China that share a similar geography and lattitude there are fundamental differences between the two.
I agree with other posters in this room that if a country develops its own financial, military, health, education, postal, and governmental system that is self-sufficient it has the right to assert its sovreignty. In truth, China has always only wanted Taiwan when it is wealthy. What will China do if it has Taiwan? How will it better the life of Taiwanese? China forgets that its wealth has come from Taiwanese and HK investment into the south, and from that investment China learned to deal with the west and become rich. Taiwan has no ambition to take over China and is effectually economically linked to China, so China should be looking at what is, not what was.
The history of Taiwan and China is that of the last generation. If China were truly great, it would stop interfering in Taiwan's accesion to WTO and the UN. Greatness, power and leadership are reflected in what you can let others do, not what you prohibit them from doing. China's position on Taiwan is purely economical and egoist and serves as an example that while it is the rich that lead, it takes more than money to be a leader.

Before Taiwan becomes an Indenpendent "recognized" country. I think the people should understand why Taiwan is different and the reason to become independent.

History taught us that the government will switch hands. If the KMT didn't take over Taiwan then, what will Taiwan be? Part of Japan's colony? KMT brought money over, and built Taiwan, it was a fact. Taiwan did enjoy the flourish of success. What happen to the strengthTaiwan?

If you meet Jewish people, they are proud to say they are Jews. Why Taiwan people can't say they are Chinese? Right now, the "Taiwaness", just trying hard to say they are Taiwaness, but what is their culture?

If Colombus didn't discover US, then the Indian is the only TRUE american. Have you hear anyone blame the immigrate from Europe?

Honestly, every country is based on the people. When people has enough to eat, a house to live, a happy life, then they can establish the arts, music, culture. It is useless to pointing at whose fault is it now. Time to enhance strength and provide a stable lifestyle for the people. So, Taiwan doesnt' have to receive any help from China.

Taiwan is already independent. Taiwan's 23 million citizens enjoy a free press, the right to elect their own leaders, and the unobstructed practice of their religious beliefs. I would, however, like to see Taiwan gain formal independence (e.g., full diplomatic relations with the nations of the world, admittance into the United Nations). But the odds are against this right now. The big bully in the neighborhood, China (a dictatorship), has alarming political, economic, and military clout. Most of the world, including the United States, has sold out to China. Oh, and then there are the 900 missiles China has aimed at Taiwan in the name of cross-strait peace!

If Taiwan starts shouting for full Independence, then China can legally seize control of Taiwan. If it comes to a fight, we can say good-bye to what little rights we now have. Peaceful coexistence with China is the best we can hope for.

Sloppy police artwork by way of PCG contributed to this twist of fate; even nonetheless not something recommend criminal incorrect doing or maybe court docket marshal offense. the entire deliver could be docked a million/2 pay until they finished and grasp extensive boarding and heading off innovations; as punishment, require the entire group to hold around an prolonged rope and grappling hook until they reveal this expertise. Belligerent histrionics by way of the taiwan fisherman and unpopular taiwan government attempting to enhance depressing 20% approval expenditures with nationalist aggression are the basis reason in the back of this attempt to make an excuse to declare or occupy Philippine maritime EEZ territory, according to a history of poaching interior the EEZ of the Philippines, purely like pink China did in scarborough shoal. the Elephant interior the bathtub for that reason is that no one is discussing the easy reality that the two factors declare the form occurred of their unique financial zone; subsequently the territory dispute is barely implied, however the categorical territory or boundary declare of the two area is by no skill of course articulated. Taiwan sits the fence by way of asserting the fishermen have been interior the EEZ of Taiwan, even nonetheless do not declare the PCG became into encroaching; on an identical time as the Philippines contradicts it fairly is declare the fishermen & PCG have been interior the EEZ of the Philippines, even nonetheless dismisses the Taiwan military workouts interior the comparable section as being in worldwide waters. there seems to be an exceedingly fuzzy and slippery definition of the be conscious 'unique' in use right here. yet another traumatic reality is the absence of concern over the racist - nationalist assaults sparked against Filipinos in Taiwan, enormously as quickly as we evaluate the previous 3 hundred years of genocide against the aboriginal Malay-Filipino sort Taiwan human beings and way of existence exterminated by way of the ethnic Han chinese language who now contain ninety 8% of the inhabitants of Taiwan.
