Well, you're probably not looking at it in the right light.
Do you believe in equal rights and that we should not discrimiate in jobs/housing based on age, color, creed, etc.?
Do you believe minorities should be able to vote?
Do you think we should help people when they need it? (no, not a lifestyle, but temporary help)
These are all issues championed by Liberal policies -- forget party.
To answer your question, yes, there are many things I agree with the "opposing" party. Although, I consider it the "other" party - NOT opposing. Maybe you need an attitude adjustment.
I'm a dem but certainly agree with:
- Low taxes are a good thing. We should not promote class warfare and highly tax the "rich"
- Less government is good in most cases. government is not the solution to everything.
- You should be able to own weapons (but its not a free-for-all)
- We should balance the budget and be fiscally responsible (although neither part really does that)
- We have too many entitlement programs -- I'm mainly talking about subsidies for business. I'm quite pro-business, but we have way too many subsidies.
- We should have free-trade -- but that really means free trade, not that countries can dump all they want in the US and we're screwed.
- Outsource/outasking can be good

There are several issues on which I agree to varying degrees with the opposition. I will name one Abortion - I agree with a woman's right to choose. Now here are the varying degrees. I don't like the practice of abortion and I wish women would choose not to do it, but it is their body and who am I to say what's right or wrong in the matter. Mostly, though I agree because it is better than the alternative. I think too many people have forgotten the bad old days with the backroom jobs.

Gay rights - just because I think what they do is gross doesn't mean I have the right to tell them they can't do it.
Abortion - to a point (Roe's the only workable answer - you don't even know you're pregnant for a month or two, what are we going to do if a woman hooks up, gets pregnant without knowing it, and then goes out drinking with her friends the next night?).
I can see the arguments for legalizing pot. I'll never touch the stuff myself and if my kids ever touch it I'll beat the daylights out of them - their knowledge of which is why they'll never touch it.
That's all I can think of at the moment.

Yes. I agree with my party's ideals of personal responsibility, welfare reform, and being against socialism. I think we should give hand-ups to people in this country, not hand-outs. No one will ever learn to try to achieve things for themselves if we continue to support the reasons they don't have to.
I agree with the opposing party about equal rights for citizens - including gay and lesbian marital rights. They are human too.
I agree with abortion being a woman's choice, not forcing to her birth a child she doesn't have any desire to care for.
I also agree with the separation of church and state.

I agree that as long as our parents are allowing our schools to teach morality to our children, and as long as our schools' morality education defines morality based on what is legal, I am in favor of laws that keep people from messing with me.
