I think we need to band together and vote independent. Boy would that put a dent into the Republicans and the Democrats.
Neither party really cares about We The People. The party core is made of very wealthy powerful individuals on both sides. And I have heard this is by design to keep the wealthy few as the controlling force in this Country and the people as their puppets.

Republicans don't vote the same as Democrats on everything.
Having a brain, one realizes that there are often points, issues and solutions that one can agree upon. Objective facts can be looked at objectively, and not just through a partisan prism.
Looking at the flip side of your question, what's the point of automatically nay-saying everything the "opposition" does instead of voting based on what's best for the people?

might desire to you no longer undemanding? How grew to become your vote thrown out, and how is that distinctive from, say, the way common elections artwork? we've a "winner take all" device for each state (distinctive than for Maine and Nebraska) and a "first previous the placed up" device for counting electoral votes accepted, so if I stay in, say, Oregon, and that i voted for Bush, then my vote ought to "now no longer count huge variety huge variety" with the aid of certainty Kerry gained Oregon and as a result have been given all of its votes. Is that what you propose? with the aid of certainty if so, this is basically how the election regulations are set up, and that's now no longer a reason to alter your vote one way or the quite a few. Or grew to become there some strange element happening in Arkansas? i won't be able to have the skill to locate something on the advice. sounds like it grew to become a especially undemanding standard.

we would all hope that our law makers we're voting based on what is best for our country not what is best for their party. however, at no time have I noticed people on the hill actually fighting for their people as much as they seem to be fighting for their party, and their re-election.
I don't agree with everything the president has done, but I didn't think Kerry would do a better job, so it is my responsibility to vote for Bush. if I see a candidate that is better , that is the one I should vote for, not the one my 'party' tells me to.
we need to stop caring so much about weather or not someone is Dem or Rep, and start caring about weather or not they are acting out of our best interests, or are they merely acting, to further their own little causes.

TexasRose is right. The local elections are the ones that matter.
When the two parties move too close to the center, candidates will come along closer to the parties fundamentals and the parties will revert back to foundation. It goes in waves.

We're not supposed to knee-jerk vote one way or the other because of our party affiliation - we're all, including lawmakers, supposed to thoughtfully consider each issue on its merit and vote what we think is best for the country. How that line of voting falls, in terms of dem or rep, is simply an artifact and should not be considered or even desired to be a driving force.

If a candidate steps up for border security, flat tax or rich no breaks will the party make a difference?
(Mex is a good place, well let's all go there! Any border problems?)

That's why more people should vote 3rd party whenever possible. But after seeing the video I watched last night...I learned that voting at all anymore doesn't really matter. Except in my local elections.
