yeah i have to agree with some of the guys in the colums above me Nash is good and great but does he really compare to Nowitzki no i don't think so let's see for starters dirk nowitzki shoots 90% from the freethrow line and 43% from the 3 point line he also leads his team in rebounds and scoring. and not only that he has to share the ball so he racks up the assists to and if you have ever watched Nowitzki play he has great defense he stays on the floor when a shot goes up and he puts a hand in the guys face and he also blocks shots to if i recall back when they played the lakers he blocked ramovic and the ball went nowhere exept in dirks Hands so that is why this year is Dirk Nowitzki's year to win MVP no NASH

I wouldn't say he DOESN'T deserve it, but, like you seem to think, I also don't believe he should receive it this year.

Thing with MVP is that they have so many criteria that even a player that seems to be great on the court may not have it simply because he's not involved in other stuff.

Steve Nash is a particular player. Not only does he have great numbers, he's essential to his team. Notice what happens when he's on the bench... Even if it's only for 1 or 2 minutes. Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudemire are excellent players, but they don't support the team as well as Nash does.

Add to that Nash's participation in social causes and other events such as basketball camps, children cause, etc.

He has the profile to be a MVP because he's a good player and a good social individual too. Still, this year, I believe Dirk Nowitzki would deserve MVP more than Nash. Plus, Nash add it last year and the year before... It's time for a change.

But when you say Nash wouldn't be so good if Stoudemire and Marion weren't there to catch his passes, you have to be able to see the opposite side of this as well: Stoudemire and Marion wouldn't be so good if Nash wasn't there to pass them the ball...

He does deserve to win MVP, but 3 times in a row is a lot for a player of Nash's caliber... He's not even on the all-star starting lineup...

First of all... I think that last year Amare played a total of 3 games... so there goes one part of your reasoning.. Steve Nash is a Great Player... i dont think theres enough to see Nash Win it Again... first year he was awesome... 2nd year he was better without Amare.. this year he's putting up the same numbers... and he would be as good without Amare and Marion. He just finally got recognzied in Phoenix. Steve Nash Won't win the MVP this year... but if he does he definately deserves it for what he did for that team in Pho. Remember they were (with that Amare and Marion Guy) a sub 500 team... now there the best in the league.

I don't think you understand that Steve Nash makes Stoudamire and Marion the players they are. Just watch the team when Nash is on the bench...they tend to fall apart

the reason that nash is the mvp is that amare and marion wouldnt look so good if it wasnt for nash, he can do it all - make sweet passes, shoot threes, he makes excellent decisions, yea amare and marion are very good athletes but nash turns them into excellent basketball players

Well I would say MVP stands for the Most Valuable Player and Nash is not. It does not stand for the best player. Because Nash is not the best player on his team.

There are a lot of players more valuable to their team than Nash.

Don't get me wrong I like him and he is a good player but Kobe, Shaq, and KG are all more valuable to their team than Nash.

That my 2 cents.

The problem the league is having is that the first MVP he got cause he's a good white basketball player (trying to get more white men 18-50 to watch the ads and make more money) when Shaq should of got it is that he has been playing better and his team is getting and doing better the two years following. its hard to not give it to him when he's doing better. I think if he should of got it any year its probably this year. I do agree with you, Garnett is much more valuable to his team just to mention one guy.

Nash shouldn't get MVP this year. Guys like Arenas, Dirk, and KG deserve it more.

Nash is a great player, but this year is Nowitzki's turn

I think he definitely does. It is because of him his team does what it does.

Agree with you 100%
