I hate it when you buy something for $2 and they charge you $20 for shipping.

Unfortunately, that's the way things are run sometimes.
The other five dollars was probably for shipping?
The Ebay sellers have to charge for shipping, but some do it to add to their profit line.
For instance, I ordered two hard drives. They were new and I won them for about $40.00. The seller also charged me $30.00 for shipping. That was outrageous; if I had been smart enough ta the time to read the whole auction, I would not have bid on that.
The cost of shipping two hard drives should have been about $10-15 UPS, so he was making money.
When I sell on Ebay, I charge a reasonable shipping fee. If something were to cost UPS let's say $7.50, I usually add alsight amount to cover for boxes etc and raise it to $8.50 or 9.00. That's not high, but it still covers my costs.

Ebay is not the best way to buy products.
The company increased its fees, so sellers need to mark everything up to make a profit.
Also, paypal charges fees just for you to accept the money.
Ebay is not what it used to be. I would recomend buying on craigslist (local) with no fees!

Yuppers!
Buyer beware! There are great folks on Ebay, but there are always the dirtbags thinking they can make a buck. Live and learn. And read the descriptions closely.

Well, that's why you have to know everything about the product you are bidding on.
