I've tried several ways to thorw, from changing the number of fingers in the grip to changing my swing, but I haven't found a way to throw a football with power, spin, and distance.

I put my ring ringer and pinky on the first two seams. Place my index finger on the tip for extra push and leverage. Put a little extra snap in my wrist. I get quite a lot of speed.

I was taught to hold the football close to the middle, slightly towards the front or the back (where your hand will fit around it better than it will in the middle), with your fingertips touching the laces. Use the other hand on the other side of the football to stabilize it until you are ready to throw. Bring both hands, and the ball, up towards the shoulder of your throwing arm, then bring your throwing arm back so the football is pointing forward and your hand is just behind your ear. Snap the ball forward and let go, being sure to follow through with your arm and fingers. Just before letting go, your hand with rotate slightly under to create the spiral motion.
