IUD?

There are several varieties, but most are not recommended for women who have not had at least one full-term pregnancy (the uterus is too stiff otherwise).

There is a copper-only version (Paraguard) and a hormone-infused version (Mirena). People say that Mirena is good because eventually you'll have a very light or no period; Paraguard doesn't use hormones at all, but the copper makes the uterine cavity too irritated for implantation to occur.

Personally, I cannot recommend the IUD. I had one for 5 months before I had to have it surgically removed because the irritation it caused to my uterus caused it to puncture my uterus. I now have a build-up of scar tissue in that area that it is visible on a ultrasound and is blocking that fallopian tube completely (thankfully I don't want any more children, but....).
Before the perforation, I had HORRIBLE cramping all the time, my period was miserable (terrible cramping and bleeding that bordered on hemorrhaging). And I had given birth 2 years prior!

Please reconsider your options.......

yes. This is a T-shaped device that is inserted by a doctor into your uterus. It stays there for 3-5 years (I think) depending on the brand. It floats around your uterus and makes it an inhospitable environment for a baby to develop. You can search for IUD on the internet and get WAY more information. Your doctor's office will also have info they can give you as well.

I just alked to my neughbor about it and she said it hurt when they put it in and it made her cry. She has had her period and bad cramping for 4 months now. I would avoid that one. I would also avoid the shot, that can mess you up!! I had it once and had my period for 9 months straight! Go with the pill for sure if you are considering birth control!
