The RAZR and KRZR phones are mainly purchased for their style. The user interface is not very friendly and Motorola has terrible software glitches. For example, the KRZR does not have a master reset option. Therefore if a setting gets changed and you're not sure what you did and your phone starts beeping and freaking out, there will be no easy way to set it back.

Second, both the RAZR and KRZR have an issue with the speed-dials. When your contacts are entered, they are automatically assigned a speed dial number in chronological order. This means for example if you meet someone and want to add them as speed-dial number 5 , you will have to delete the preceeding 20, 50, 100, or more contacts that you have in front of them to change it. Not fun.

With Verizon Wireless, you will find that the LG brand and Samsung phones will be much more realible and the menu options are much more user friendly. If you like the style of the RAZR, I would personally go for the LG 8600. Check it out:

RAZR owner here, and I'm on Verizon. It's a great little phone! I prefer the slide phones (like the chocolate), but the RAZR was such a great deal, I couldn't pass.

Bad phone? - People say it's bad because it breaks if you drop it on the floor. This is true. Not as robust as some phones, but I don't drop mine.

Good phone? - 15 second videos, photos, speaker phone, blue tooth enabled, HUGE screen, strong reception, clear audio, net capable, tons of cheap accessories. Really, you can't go wrong with the little guy.
It can even be set to operate entirely hands free with a wired headset. I really like mine.
