measure by ultrasound or by drs measurements?
If by ultrasound probably just a big baby, or further along than thought. By drs measurements could be you are further along anywhere from 2-5wks, or possiblilty of twins.

If it's just by measuring and not the ultrasound it could be wrong. Ultrasounds can tell more accurately how far long you are. Measuring can be off at times. I'd trust my ultrasound more than the measurements. The last time I went into the doctor I was 26 weeks pregnant. But I was only measuring 23 weeks. Could be the size of the baby, it's position, lots of things.

It means your 5 weeks more along than you originally thought, was the measurement from an ultrasound or just measuring the belly, because if it wasn't an ultrasound then I would ask for one in the chance that you are carrying twins.

it means that you're carrying a big baby or you're further along in your pregnancy than you thought. if the latter is the case, you can expect to have your baby a little sooner than first expected. otherwise, your baby is just growing more rapidly than usual which could mean you might want to talk to your doctor about the possibility of needing a C-section. when babies are larger than normal sometimes it's best to go with the C-section because it would be hard on you to try and deliver the baby.
Congratulations! and Best Wishes to you and your Baby!

I continuously measured further alongside than i grew to become into and with my infant, I won sixteen lbs, yet lost 4 to finally end up 12 lbs heavier than i grew to become into as quickly as I have been given pregnant. don't get frightened except your physician inform you something is incorrect. Your infant could be great or your uterus could be increasing better than maximum women individuals. With my daughter, I had sonograms each and each month via a difficulty in a prior being pregnant. She grew to become into fairly small eventhough I measured further alongside. She ended up being 8lb 1oz...completely fantastic. while my daughter grew to become into born, I measured 40 5 weeks. this question could look beside the point, inspite of the incontrovertible fact that it ought to describe why you're measuring further alongside: have been you obese until eventually now to procure pregnant? that could throw off the measurment while you're.

If the ultrasound tech didn't give you any information (they can't, really) you need to call your OB and ask them about it for a definitive answer. They get calls all the time, it's part of being a doctor.
