clean the bottom of the mouse with alcohol and use a can of air to get out any dust. Also, could be something on the mouse pad.

Smooth clean dust free surface? clean the optic there is probably a small piece of lint or hair in front of the lens.

dust on the laser....clean the bottom of your mouse with an air spraying can (any office supply place has them)
