And why are they such grubby, disgusting creeps? Did they somehow fail to get the gay fabulosity gene?

There was a study a few years ago (I wish I could find it) that showed that people who were most vehemently anti-homosexual tended to be more likely to be aroused by homosexual pornographic images. In many cases, I think they were raised to believe that homosexuality is evil or wrong, and they compensate by suppressing their feelings and then overcompensate by acting very anti-gay to try and hide their own nature.

Well, first, it would surprise me if there were NOT a few gay people in antigay organizations. People tend to develop bonds with organizations based on their own personal feelings on a given subject, and while being "anti-anything" might simply mean you somewhat oppose that thing, it more likely means that you strongly oppose it, or even hate it with a passion.

So, who hates anything the most? Mostly you'll find it is those who have been raised with a strong bigotry against it, and those who have developed a strong bigotry against it later in life.

Ah, but the third kind of person, those who truly hate something with the strongest passion, are those who have been raised (or have developed) a strong bigotry against something, yet are themselves that thing! Self-loathing is the worst kind of hatred, one that will eat you alive inside. You hate yourself for who you are, and yet there's no way to change it; so you band together with people who hate the same things as an attempt to simultaneously find friendship in like-minded people and (you hope) finally figure out how to change that part of you that you hate so much.

And so, you're bound to find self-hating homosexuals in an anti-gay group. It's inevitable.

By the way, there's another kind of homosexual you'll find in those groups: the kind that are seeking to hide their orientation. Let's say you're a young Republican and you want to garner the Christian Right vote when you run for office for the first time; trouble is, you're also a homosexual, and some people know it. Hey, why not join an anti-gay group? If someone tries to claim you're a homosexual, you'll simply point to your participation in that group as proof of your heterosexuality.

If this were true it would tell me that even though they are gay they see it as being wrong. IT is nice to see that they can make a judgment on themselves and not let their ego get in the way and also that they try to prevent others from having like problems.

Because alot of them are hypocrites. They rail against so-called 'evils' to try to hide their own personal demons. Hence, the conservative who rails against gays and talks about morality are often the ones who are gay, drug-taking perverts.

Its called self loathing. Any one who hates themselves will try to make everyone else as miserable as they are. It does not matter why they hate themselves or for what reason.
