They find us immoral. They want us to shut up and keep quite. They are afraid of us. They fear we are becoming too normalized. They don't want us around their kids. They don't want us to marry our lovers. In countries around the world they beat and hang us from ropes. How far have we really come when we flinch when our lover tries to hold our hand in public because we fear physical harm? How far have we come when parents in New York are trying to ban teachers from educating children about different families which includes a family with gay parents? How far have we come when they pass unconstitutional laws prohibiting us from marrying our lovers? How far have we come when they force a governor to stay in the closet then force him out of office when he comes out of that closet? Don't ask tell me how far have we come when our national military will not allow us to serve? How much can you take? How many times will you tolerate some one calling you a FA***T?

I don't have hate in my heart. I am intolerant of their bigotry and frustrated with our complacency. I don't understand why we have not come together more in our nation to take this fight seriously? We are allowing people to marginalize and minimize us and our cause for equality. Have we become so cynical?

When Martin Luther King, Jr. stood before the crowd in Washington so many years ago, he stated that he had a dream. He hoped others would share his dream; a dream for equality amongst those of different races.

So what did the Federal Government do?

They granted complete and equal rights to all black people legally residing in the United States. What many people don't know is that this "freedom" had an expiration date of 50 years, which was recently "renewed" for another 50 years by President Bush.

Black people have come a long way in their fight for equality by only having been granted minimal legal freedom, in that their rights legally expire every 50 years, and is not unending like those of heterosexual caucasian men. We have to do the best we can do, be the best we can be, and share our dreams and aspirations with others. we must recruit those who believe in our cause and share our dream while not trying to oppress others' beliefs, such as Rev. King did in his fight.

In time, we will be able to hold our lover's hand without fear of persecution. I pray we will see it within our lifetime. It is my greatest fear we will not.

Let us continue to oxidize the growing flame that is the revolution for equality amongst all sexualities, and strive for equal rights amongst those of us who are currently unable to wed those we love.

A good friend taught me; While perfection may never be achieved, it should not mean we stop striving toward it. By doing our best to better ourselves and our world, we can achieve something that may be greater than anything you could've thought to have achieved.

I have a dream...

I applaud your words & give you a standing ovation!
In my opinion, you can only change the mind of people who are unknowing but eager to learn so that they can have their own views on topics as important & significant as this. & sometimes, you simply cannot change the mind of ignorance & hate.
Gays & lesbians have come a long way & will go even farther.
Always carry yourself with dignity & respect & know that not everyone feel as if people with your sexual orientation should be opressed & be made a fool. In the end, they will make them selves look ignorant, simple minded, & just un educated.
Everything you have been called, I have been called that + then some b/c I simply have an open mind & choose to voice my opinion & teach my child that noone should be treated different b/c of skin color, hair color, sexual preference, etc.
Just don't succumb to their ignorance & turn your feelings into hate for the other; it will make you just as bad as them.

I can tell you the world is changing, look at Denmark, Netherlands, Spain, Canada, South Africa, Mass. U.S.A., look at Britain, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Norway, each of these nations either have full equality or at least are on the way. The Domino's have begun to fall, that's why the religious and intolerant are becoming more shrill, the know the end is nigh, it's just not the end they're thinking it is.

I know...that' s terrible. They do not care about the love that people are feeling for each other. Each of us has different choices and we have to respect it. Now when people are killing each other in the war, no one does nothing, no one complains. I would suggest to not keep this hate in your heart. Keep fighting for your rights, one day it will come. I have a lot gays friends, they are the nicest people ever. When I hang out with them I really do not care about their choices, they are still humans, and they respect people. If some one calls you that, just ignore it! Live your life, enjoy your moment. This poor people that can't respect others are not happy at all!

We've come a long way actually. The wouldn't feel the need to make these stupid laws unless they felt threatened. We are coming along and it scares the heck out of them. Keep up the fight, we may lose a battle, but we will win the war.

uh...I won't i'm not gay. I additionally don't be conscious of how I have been given in the LGBT sight despite if it incredibly is thrilling for a 2nd anyhow.. With that suggested I actually have a concept for you...i've got faith the gay community has come very far...in spite of the undeniable fact that i'm not a historian on your reason, i've got faith there have been cases in the process the place being gay might value you your existence in a courtroom of regulation, not in basic terms random hate crimes. challenge is everybody could not agree. What may be high-quality is that if everybody could comply with disagree peacefully. yet that in the time of itself is against human nature. there'll continually be hate, it stems from worry. i'm riddled with worry...merely look at my Q&A historic previous. many human beings do not accept as true with me, and are not prejudice. in addition they have not had reports I even have. the two way, I appreciate they gained't agree and proceed to stay my existence with persons who do. question is how lots are you keen to tolerate? Are you gonna enable them to make you submissive? Are you gonna enable them to make you a quitter? Are you gonna cry in the event that they call you a despite? Nah. no crying. you may stay your existence in accordance to you no count what the value. particular, gay ppl could never be taken care of with finished dignity, yet who will? you additionally can continually could worry a hate crime, yet the place i'm from no person is risk-free from that. no person. Race, faith, and existence form are all up for hating on, and sticking to my techniques is what have been given me with the aid of so far. So once you're gay be gay, and placed your existence on the line for it..If being gay isn't that significant to you, the place you does not sacrifice your existence for the clarification to your fellow community, possibly you may reassess your existence form, through fact i don't see the variations you look for each time quickly. i'm not non secular and am not preaching....in basic terms a concept.

There is a revolution coming. Are you going to help shape it? If we say democracy and equal rights for all, that's actually mean it for once.
