Absolutely. He should retire and make a room for a player like you who can help the team india by his knowledge and ability to stick his bat in his own *******.

According to me every player has to be judged on their performance in their previous matches.Sachin played a wonderfull knock in the last one day against WI,so i feel he should still improve up on his batting and be an extra-excellent player for the world cup to come.So his retirement is far behind.
But each and every young player like uttappa, srishanth should be given chance in the team.So the coach should try and experiment on the players, which would help to carve out the best diamond from other valuable stones.
If the opening partner playing with Sourav plays like utthappa and if India on the whole could score runs above 300 then India is sure to win in the coming World Cup 2007.
All the Best India.

I dont think so... He is playing very good cricket though not as his previous level, but thats because of so much pressure and age. But still he is scoring run, giving best effort in fielding, there are other players who are not performing as consistently as him. The problem with us is that we all expect too much from Sachin in every game, infact we want him to score a century every match, which is very very difficult or rather impossible for any of the player. So instead of thinking about his retirement we must think about how much we can use him till he gets retire by himself. His experience can be a great help for young players.

He should retire now, India will be a better team for it. Sachin is good but not great (where is his Test triple century?) and is not a proven machwinner despite all his hype (not one of his innings made it into the Wisden Top 100 innings, Dravid has two, Sehwag has one, Laxman has one). He should retire now and let one of the youger guns develop out of his shadow eg Suresh Raina. Besides when he is not in the match, India performs better (re. India vs Australia 2003).

I think our all olddies shud retire aftr the WC to gve chance to new talents. It will India then with new faces with the new existing young ex generation also.... they shud infact be with Indian team to guide them wenever reqd. As of 4 now they earned a lot & shud gve chance to young blood to earn as well as perfom. our players are now jst earning & not performing.... so these players shud now go & work in movies or only commercials rather than playing cricket whch will make more sense. India needs performance & not their ads.......... With the current team if Indians are dreaming of WC they shud correct themselves & forget tht Indian Cri Team is not at all legible for WC participation also. They will lose to even the Bangladeshis........

i think,he should more for India, this is natural, every player has his good and bad times,so sachin,it is foolishness be live his time is over, see how he played against the west indies,so no matter our little master can play the game as long as he wants or till he himself decides to retire, now their is no urgency.

I think it depends on him and his performance....
He is the star player, and he is so experienced that he could merely place the ball for an boundary or two....
Seeing this, it could be easily felt that lots of cricket is in him...
He is right now perfectly fit.
So why are you thinking of his retirement ???
