my itunes read i had 182 songs on it while my ipod only had 180 i plugged it in to upload the other 2 but founjd out that my itunes went down to 7 songs and so did the ipod as soon as i unplugged the ipod it went back up to 182 songs and as soon as i plugged it back in- went back down to 7 songs i erased all sonsg and went to import- but when i went to import like i always have- it wouldnt work- it would look like it was importing but the song never showed up- i was able to import my entire music folder with 300 songs on it- i plugged my ipod in and 185 songs imported to the ipod and itunesd read 185 songs- when i unplugged the ipod it again read that itunes had 300 songs- so why is it doing this? why when i plug hte ipod in does my song number drop and when i unplug it goes back up? and why when i click import does nothing happen??? please help

thanks for the answers- i searched for duplicates in teh "show me dups" thing and nothing came up- i have more then enoguh room left i have a nano i have like 80% free still its so annoying when things like this dont work lol

What iPod is it? Maybe there is only enough room on you iPod for this amount of songs.

If not, switch your iPod to manual sync and create play list of the songs you want on your iPod. Then drag those songs into the new playlist. Then drag that new play list into your iPod

Take your iPod to a properly understand electric powered superstore like Curries or Dixons. they help with those Immediatly and loose, I had a simmilar situation, they fastened it in Comet very instantly. solid success my expensive =] x

what might have happend dude is that you have duplicates... just erase them
