Hi!
I use Virgin Vie!
I was a total make up junkie, always wore the most expensive make up!
That all had to change when i had my baby. Virgin Vie cosmetics are actually made in the same place as lancome! (i used to be a VV consultant so i know this for a fact)
They do cost a wee bit more than the likes of rimmell and the likes, but they are most defo cheeper than the premium (designer label) ranges.
VV also do loads of different ranges for all types of skin. young, middle age, maturing, they even have ranges for men (recommended!!)
Have a wee browse on the web site!!(u can even beome a consultant n earn a bit of extra cash!!)
xx

Hi it depends on what you mean buy expensive. I dont think the ones for 2 quid work but i dont believe in paying like £20-40 as they dont work anybetter. I have spent ages and money on trying to get a decent foundation and i spent a lot on one and it was a load of rubbish and the other day i got one from tesco call make up, and it is brilliant. and was only a fiver. Ive tried all makes like rimmel and revlon, loreal, max factor. maybelline and they are all crap. And i aint going to pay dear for ones like clinique and estee lauder or yves st lauren as i know people who wear it and it doesnt look that good on them as it just like any other make up. So i think its a waste of money for them. I know on girl ranted and rave about some lancome lip stick she got and some foundation she got from clinique. When she bought it in to show me. The foundation wasnt too good and the lip stick barley lasted 5 mins on her lips/ When you pay dear you expect your lip stick a foundation to last a whole day at least. Maybelling do better ones for a fiver. I just say shop around and save money, and not waste it on name labels as they arnt worth it. Unless you have money that you have nothing better to do with.

From personal experience no, I find that spending too much on cosmetics isnt worth it when you can achieve the same finish with lower brow products. Which brand you use shouldnt be an issue, its how you apply it and how you work it to your skin. Obviously the higher branded cosmetics will be richer in texture and smoothness and true may work longer, or you may find yourself getting conned out of money if it doesnt work. Find yourself some testers before you splash out.

yup.
I buy Lancome Paris Foundation, its like 35 dollars at Macys, but well worth it. it is pretty thick, so it covers, but it feels light. I use Victorias Secret Very Sexy Eyeliner, which is 10 dollars a stick, so its not that bad. then I go cheap on things such as blush, lipstick, and translucent powder. I get most of my eyeshadow and mascara as freebies when I buy my lancome.
when i was younger (like 13) i bought Covergirl foundation and IT SUCKS!! but what do you expect for 7 dollars?
I still use some covergirl products, like thier Translucent powder. but no one can see the quality of that since its super light and almost clear. all it does is set the makeup. i use thier blush too, and I find myself re-applying that a few times a day.

I don't think its necessary to buy expensive make-up I have used products from avon for 20 years at very reasonable prices and good long lasting effects.

I think its down to what suits and agrees with you best. If you can get away with a £2.00 bottle of foundation if it is ok on your skin and looks and feels ok then great. I use elizabeth arden flawless finish. its about £15 but it lasts me about 12mths so i think its great value for money. elizabeth ardens mascara is also good as it does not make your lashes clump together like some do. i would not rate cliniques macaras at all they dont do what they say they do and dont last long either.

Yes, definately.
I think it's worth paying a little more for your essentials like moisturiser and foundation. I use Dior and it's fantastic.
Other stuff like nail polish, lipsticks and mascara I think you can get decent stuff a little cheaper.
But obviously the bargain basement pound stuff is gonna be carp.

The cheaper ones like L'Oreal, CoverGirl, Maybelline, Revlon, Almay, and Neutrogena are just as good. I mean, who's gonna know if you are wearing Dior makeup or NYC makeup anyway?
