I am having my first ultrasound on Feb 15th. I feel as though I am farther along than I originally thought. I still have breast soreness, but less cramping and no morning sickness ( which I did not have at all ). I feel as though I am already showing quite a bit. I am of normal size. 5'2" and 120 lbs. Any advice? I have not gained any weight yet.

unfortunately all the attention goes to the other two trimesters.... maybe it is due to our chemical changes causing such dramatic upheavels in our emotions, eating habits... size and shapes.. that poor second is left out in the cold as we adjust and settle into the changes... and nothing "jumps" in size, but steadily moves along? appears normal....
from what I remember the first part of the second tri was when my belly started to feel wider? heavier.. I had not gained anything, wasn't showing.... but it felt both to me mentally (internally? thinking about it? word alludes me..) and to others(dr) physically more solid? emotionally I went from basket case to basket weave...... ok poor joke.. I did though.. I went from feeling the supercharged hyperdrive pms and overwhelming fear in the first tri to hey... it is going to be okay.. I can do this... and pretty emotion-less? lack of roller coaster I guess... physically I ate! I could have eatten more too...lol.. but I did good from second pregnancy on (eating the right amounts and gaining properly? they are key in preventing stretchmarks and in rgaining that prebaby figure!) I felt hungry, energetic... and for me? this whole trimester is when I had the nesting... I gave in to it... and glad... I was too big most times at the end of the pregnancy and could not do all that I wanted...
the linea de nigra sorry, going by the memory here? the dark line? not everyone gets it... but for that do? oh joy?! I still have mine...lol.. maybe the body just figured you are going to keep making me recreate this this? fine.. it is yours... forever... but? it does not show I thought, until week 16-20.... 2nd tri ends 26-28th?
so there are changes... we do not really notice unless we sit and reflect as most are all internal.. pyschological, emotional... with the pyshical coming quietly when the baby starts moving, and the waist expanding.. which is just toward the end of this trimester.. giving the glory to the third trimester....
the ultrasound can give you an idea if you are off... by size the dr will see the gestational age...going back over when you "could have" could help you figure it too.... but?
unless there is a more than two week difference one way or the other (earlier, later) for ESD it won't be changed most likely... our due dates are already an "estimate" based on when we had our last period... from there they do a standard 14 days later ovulation.. one more to two for conception.... but we do not all ovulate fourteen days on cue...lol... or anything else... right to the baby... I wish I could remember the exact days... there are "x" amount of days it takes from beginning to end.. if we knew the beginning (egg meets sperm) we would know exactly the date we are due.. but? then you have to figure in the baby.. he/she might need an extra day or two to grow lungs due to who knows what factors? maybe even what we eat, how we exercise? sleep? etc.... or maybe baby gets everything done fast.. very organized from the start? ;>
anyway.. I add that because if you feel you are further along? definitely look into it? but be prepared for your "team of pros" to not really be quick to change the date.... unless it was way off...
relax.. enjoy the lack of ill effects... get lots of rest....
hope this helps...
good luck

Well first of all, all pregnancies are diffeent. Normally, by the second trimester you will start showing, you will see a dark line on your stomach going from lower to upper and you will start feeling tha baby move. I just started my second trimester and have nore soreness, little sickness and felling my stomach a little harder than normal...But being petite you will show more which will make youthink that you are actually more weeks than what you think. But all that will be determined during your ultrasound which will also determine the sex, size weight and how many weeks you are oh and your due date too..Good luck and congrats!!!

Not really. Other than symptoms starting to decrease, and your belly increasing in size. You are fairly small so it would be normal for you to show a little earlier because there wouldn't be any fat to hide the belly that's forming. Everyone carries differently. Some show very early and some don't show until very late. They will be able to tell you the exact age of the baby to the day at your ultrasound, and give you a more accurate due date. I guess you'll have to wait for that to know for sure. Good Luck!

The chances of miscarriage in second trimester is very less. The symptoms are bleeding, spotting, pain, cramps, or some flushy thing from your vagina may be comes out. Don't waste time rush to your doctor
