All the songs and videos i play in my windows media player seems as if it were skipping or playing at a very fast rate. what can i do to slow it down or stop it from skipping

this could be a problem with the files (unlikely since you said they all skip, unless your hard drive has been somewhat corrupted) it could be a memory issue. if windows runs out of RAM, it will start to use the hard drive. this is a much slower memory and causes things to run at odd speeds. this would be unlikely unless you have a lot of programs running. next, it could be a problem with WMP. try to uninstall it and reinstall it.

well if you have a newer versin of windows media player. there actually is an option go to enhancement, then the play speen options and hit reset or normal, to change it back to 1.0 which is normal.... check it out

Now playing options>Enhancements>Play speed settings or tools>options
