Some landlords take forever in replacing things that need to be replaced. It all depends on what state you live in also. In my state (Massachusetts), all a landlord has to supply a tenant is a working stove and hot and cold running water. A refrigerator is not considered a necessary item. If I were you, I would start looking for a better apartment. When looking at new apartments, check out all the utilities BEFORE you sign a lease. Until you find a better place to live, keep your eggs in the egg carton they came in so they won't roll all over the place. The veggies can be kept in plastic bags in the refrigerator.

Pull the 'fridge away from the wall and find the compressor. Then taking as small a drill bit as you can find, put a hole in the tubing going to the compressor. Let all the freon leak out, then take a black crayon (The tubing should be black, if it's not, use a close color.) and fill the hole.

No way will he be able to say it still works. Plus the motor will burn out if left running with no freon. He'll never find the hole.

DON'T INHALE THE FREON WHEN YOU DO THIS!

the best way to kill a fridge is with an axe, i know from personal experience, but your situation axe marks wouldnt be a good thing. how bout turning the axe on the landlord, oy yeeah you cant do that either, why dont you push it over, knocking it on the floor, and put your arm or foot there, that should do something$$$

If you break it, you will be responsible for the damage. Contact your landlord and talk to him about getting a new one. If he can prove it was in working order before you moved in and it isn't after you moved in, you could be responsible for the damage.

throw it out the window, tell the landlord! and tell him you are going to buy a new one and will send him the bill.
