I know it is legal to keep pirahnas in michigan...in kalamazoo there is even a couple pet stores that sell them. usually it is the warmer climates like florida georgia etc that ban pirahnas because they can survive in those climates. Michigan it is perfectly legal to house them, just make sure you have a large enough tank for them with LOTS of filtration- very messy fish
