At age 8.I believe I had a paranormal experience. I was awoke one night by strange sounds. I saw hovering over my sister bed several figures dressed in farmers outfits some with pitch forks. I immediately ran into my parents bedroom and tried to go go back asleep. I then looked up and saw the figures passing by my parents room. Strangly enough I wasn't really frighten. Later in years around 12 to 13 years old I would awake cold and frighten and feeling something was holding me down almost like I was paralyzed. It would last maybe 30 seconds. It happened again when I was maybe 35 years old. I stayed at my sisters house for the weekend. And again late at night I awoke cold and paralyzed for maybe 20 seconds . I sensed something moving toward the window. The curtains seems to move even though it the window was closed. That was the last experience I had. It's been now over 15 years. Could anyone answer...what the heck happpened. Oh by the way I wasn't dreaming.

Ok, I could accept the pretty common phenomenon of awake mentally but physically you are still asleep . But what had happen when I was 8 years old and was wide awake and walked into my parents room? They were separate incidents.

Experiences we have as children, especially those that have no understanding seem to last our lifetime. Reading your question, creates more questions, as to the origins of the house itself. Has your sister and you discussed this happening? Does she know the ones you saw? Are your open to the paranormal? The fact that they were around your sister could be like one of the answers stated, her guardians and you in your trance like waking up state of awareness, were able to 'see' them.

As far as the 12 - 13 experience, an age where your life is a constant struggle for balance, physically, emotionally, spiritually, there may have been a battle going on within/around that is hard to discern now without more details of the "then".

My advice is to talk with your sister, and be aware of the situation and emotions that surround whenever something "out of the norm" happens.

If fear enters your life, sleep state or wakefulness, create a mantra of protection for yourself. Fear is a key, yet when the door it belongs to is unknown, there is no peace.

I agree with Eugene. Also, there are times when I got up from deep sleep (just opened my eyes) and i would see things like a faint image of tree or plant floating and moving. But it is actually the image from my dream. In your dream if you are looking at say...a plant.... and for reason came to your senses and opened your eyes, for few seconds, the image from dream will be over lapped by the actual image you are seeing with your eyes. After all, both dreams and reality are both processed in brain. This might sound silly and scientifically baseless but thats what i feel because i experienced it. You just know it.

In your case, like Eugene(respected chatter in this column) said, may be you are awake mentally but physically you are still asleep for few seconds.

It's a pretty common phenomenon (can't remember the name) where we are on the borderline of sleep where consciousness kicks in but the muscles are still basically asleep and paralyzed. It's just a normal happening.

Sounds like they were farmers and your sis reminded them of someone probally and they watched her, you probally got scared but if nothing happened then there isn't anything to worry about. Then after you seen them, they were probally watching you too. But the memory stayed with you and now you are waking mentally to see something but you are physically alsleep. Probally your subconcious trying to wake the concious part of your mind.

It's the Holy Spirit! Convert this man! Or send him to the funny farm! Or why is he wasting 5 points on this question? Oh wait..maybe he's serious. Hmm. Get a hypnotist, do the procedure, figure out what the hell's going on, man.
Have a great day!
