I would say that even if you are going to continue to give support for her, it should be going straight to her and not to your ex-wife anymore. Check whatever court orders you have gotten in the past. If needed, go back to court to get a new court order stating how long you're going to continue to do this.

no your responsibility and maintenance ended when she finished full time education at 16 unless she stayed on at school as a sixth former. Your daughter probably doesn't know but your ex wife is definately taking the piss as she would have been given this information when the level of maintenance was set by the court. By all means contribute to your daughters time at uni but this is entirely at your own free will you are under no legal obligation. The cut off date for maintenance is when the child leaves full time education which she has . Your ex will definately know this seek advice from a solicitor and let her know .

According to this site, child maintenance stops at 16, or 19 if the child is in pre-university education. IIRC the child can sue the parent for money to support them through University, but it is not child maintenance due to the ex-spouse.
Check your court papers
Consult a lawyer.

I think payments usually stop when the person turnes 18. I would advise you to go and speak to a lawyer to clear things up.

You can go to your divorce attorney and try to get a cut-off date or change your support settlement.
I though that if a child isn't in college and is over their majority then you aren't required to pay support anymore. But I'm no expert. Consult your attorney.

hi...the law in the UK for ceasation of child maintenance is the age of 18.
therefore 'cease' all payments now, and inform the courts yourself by letter that you have done so, with possible proof of your childs age 'now' etc...they will reply, and possibly 'you' will be able to claim back monies paid after she turned the age of 18.

Sounds like you need to go back to court to stop the payments, although I would hope that you would still help out your daughter if she needs it.

wow, dude looks like a lady! your daughter is an adult now so you do not need to continue paying your wife for her upkeep. She is old enough to support/take care of herself. I think this should have stopped when she turned 18, if you wish to keep supporting your daughter you should make arrangements to do so with your daughter herself.
